Had a family holiday booked for early May, needed to cancel because of government advice on coronavirus (party included over 70's, a teenager with asthma, another with a weakened immune system). Tried numerous times on the phone to contact customer services,without success, sent an email (no reply) all before the final balance was due. Got to the day before the final balance was going to be taken automatically, still unable to contact so had no choice but to cancel online (rather than pay full amount) cancellation fee (full deposit) was automatically taken from card.
There was an option to amend dates in the future but who knows what the future holds, any chosen cottages may be taken off the market & it wouldn't surprise me if Sykes didn't go into administration and do a runner sometime soon.
Have since had an email inviting me to spread the cost of the already cancelled holiday!!!!
Tried to contact them again - they seem to have removed all contact phone nos & methods of emailing.
Totally agree with recent reviews, they are robbing .........., not concerned with anything other than taking your money.
Can't believe that cottage / holiday home owners still want to deal with this company, you'll all get dragged down with Sykes if they continue to serve customers this way.
DO NOT USE THEM.
