Having read all the other comments from people like us who can not take our holiday due to Covid 19 I am horrified as I am having the exact same experience.
Sykes do not deserve to still be in business at the end of this as there are many honourable companies out there, its just we have all booked with one of the bad ones.
I even wrote to the owners of our cottage which was for this week and no response from them either
I am wondering if these are cases for the small claims court if no refunds re forthcoming. I have recently been successful with my claim against another company( not a holiday company) and it might be worth the 60.00 fee.
Otherwise if you paid via cr card your cr card company may be able to get your /our money back.
Sykes are very unwise as we for one will never use them or their sister companies again.
We had our full balance taken literally as we went into lockdown when it was obvious we couldn't go. We are two household who would be sharing the cottage which at the moment that is not allowed either.
