I recently encountered a frustrating glitch with the Talabat app, and my experience with their customer support was extremely disappointing. The issue was that my order was duplicated, and a payment was processed without my consent just 10 minutes after the original order was placed. After reporting the problem, there was no follow-up from the support team. I called Talabat at 2:00 AM, and they set an appointment to call me back between 10:00 and 10:30 AM, but they never did. By 3:00 PM, I had to find a workaround just to reach them again.
When they finally called, I spent almost an hour on the line with no resolution, speaking with four different agents before being connected to Mohammad, a tele-support manager. While Mohammad was helpful and stayed with me until the issue was resolved.
As I was still on the call with Mohammad, a Talabat representative named Mustafa Galal called and resolved the issue in less than a minute. This highlighted the lack of communication between support lines, something that could have made the process much smoother and quicker. Mustafa offered his apologies and a 25 AED voucher, which I refused.
Ultimately, I decided to delete my account and the app. I'm sad to do so, as Talabat was my go-to delivery service, but after this incident, I no longer feel confident putting myself in a situation where I might face such poor customer support again.
