After years of teaching as a qualified teacher, I want to expand my skillset to give to my community as a volunteer, teaching English to community's newcomers. The TEFL training was wonderful, reviving my cloudy memories of English grammar I learned growing up, but also teaching me some new concepts. Whether 'concept checking' conscioously or not, it was good to bring it to a place at the forefront of my thinking and target my teaching with greater clarity and success for the learners. The PPP and skills lesson formats were useful - giving a solid foundation for transition from presentation of a concept to its practice and application (or production)..... more comprehensive than the 'I do', 'We do', 'You do' progression from which I have often worked. Video teaching examples were great although volume of videos made it necessary to rely on the transcripts on many occasions. While the price of the training was made very attractive as a sale, I would strongly consider a higher price if there were lifetime access on our account to the coursework we have completed. If we were considering further TEFL study it would be sensible to know if further courses cover the same or similar material we have already covered. Overall a great trainign and confidence in teaching English as a foreign language is a big gain in completing this material.
