We thought the staff at the office were excellent - especially Zoe who dealt with all our queries and worries with exemplary patience and good humour. The captain of the Edwardian and his second in command were also excellent - the boat arrived early, we were greeted with smiles and friendly comments. The bar staff were also excellent. The meal service was the only weak point. My husband at table 10 had wonderful service (even two glasses of champagne). I was at table 1, next to the galley. Service that side was not so good. firstly a waitress dropped the first course as she came through the door - I think I was the only person who saw it! She scooped it up and backed into the galley in a flash, but it made me a little nervous! Then the staff serving our side (tables 1,3,5 etc) did not know who had ordered which starter - both my table and our daughter's were asked what we'd ordered, and our daughter in fact took the one she had not asked for (being vegetarian she didn't want the bacon on the asparagus, so ordered trout) so as not to cause problems. We also had no refills of white wine at my table until well into the entree - it was brought round instead of being on the table - and this was unfortunate as obviously some of the important guests were at my table. Would it not be possible to have the white wine left on the table in some form of chiller - not necessarily an ice bucket? Apart from that the meal was well-served, the champagne came round at exactly the right moment and the toast/speech went off perfectly. We think your company is excellent, and we would recommend you to anyone By coincidence Alistair has just written more or less the same thing to Zoe - by post, as he doesn't believe this modern technology really works.
