I wanted a multi tool that perhaps wasn't right up there price wise with something a professional relies on every day for his/her livelihood, but was going to be good enough to tackle some serious undergrowth in a big garden and keep on top of it on a regular basis. I've used cheap multi tools before and they always feel flimsy, when assembled, can be awkward to start, and usually break if you hit anything hard. The Green Reaper recommended this Mitox and it's brilliant. It goes together (and comes apart) really well, and feels really secure and strong when you change the various implements. Starting is a doddle, and it's nice that it comes with two stroke oil, mixing bottles, face shield etc so you can just put it together and get going. All the switchgear and controls are sensibly placed...for example I lost count of the amount of times I accidentally hit the "off" switch on a cheapo version, where the Mitox switch is close enough to your thumb for an emergency, but far enough away that you shouldn't accidentally touch it. The disc cutter is a pretty fearsome bit of kit, which made short work of serious brambles. The strimmer is very strong indeed (almost negating the need for the disc cutter to be honest) and if you've come from some puny electric thing, you will be very impressed with the power and cutting ability. The hedge trimmer does exactly what it says on the tin, and the chainsaw attachment cuts neatly through the bigger stuff, although make sure you have the chain tension right for best results. One minor thing to point out is that the handle attaches slightly differently to how it says in the otherwise very comprehensive handbook, however you'll soon work it out, you only attach it once, and it's due to a design improvement over the old handle from Mitox. It's secure and even allows some adjustment so you have it in the right place for you as the user. Also nice to see exploded diagrams and parts numbers in the manual, so you can presumably buy spares and keep it running for years...nice to see in this world of "disposable" items. Really punctual next day delivery too, I'll defintely use the Green Reaper again and would not hesitate to buy other Mitox products if they are as good as this!
