I bought nine 2.4m x100x200mm (8x4”) for a raised bed. Delivery was good, if a bit early 06:50 - fortunately we were the second delivery of the day! The wood was pretty much as expected - landscape grade - basically it’s the center of the tree that’s no use for furniture timber. Most sleepers included the pith which is why the wood is so prone to splitting. But this wood is much better than some I’ve seen - only one sleeper was really bad, with a split right through from side to side stretching over nearly a third of the sleeper. Overall, though I was satisfied with the timber. The price was ale good, with some big name diy outlets selling soft wood for similar, if not higher prices. Also be was of L Oak on eBay, I nearly bought some and the L stands for “like oak” Sounds a bit of a con to me. One final point, the machining off the oak was very good, with pretty square edges and no twisting along the length and none of the deep bandsaw gouges you see in some timber. Would use again.
