We have enjoyed 2 batches of the traditional Cornish pasties in the past, the pastry has been light and melted in the mouth. However, we cooked two from the latest batch, delivered very recently and we were very disappointed. The pastry was hard and dark brown, as if the pasties had been over-cooked, it even tasted a bit burnt. I had cooked them on the same temperature and for the same time as I always have, and I use a timer, and have never had any problems before. My husband cut off most of the edges of his and said he didn't enjoy it at all. We have only cooked 2 out of the 10 we ordered so far, so it will remain to be seen as to whether they are all like this or if it is a one-off. If they all turn out to be like this, we won't be ordering again. On the plus side, the delivery was very quick.
