I purchased a pallet fork, unfortunately it was damaged in shipping. The company shipped each part without any packaging, wrapping, or in a crate. The equipment is heavy and was dragged, causing dents, paint chips, scratches, grooves, etc. They offered the following:

We always do our best to ensure items are securely packaged before they leave our facility, and I’m really sorry that the package was damaged in transit.
Unfortunately, once the item is with the carrier, we have limited control over handling. This is why we offer Route Shipping Insurance at checkout, as it provides coverage for situations like this. That said, we still want to help and are offering a 10% refund as a one-time courtesy.
This seems to be their standard response. In summary, either I took their offer or pay to have it returned and pay restocking fee.
