I recently purchased a Garmin watch from this website as a Christmas present for my boyfriend. Like I’ve seen a few others say on here, I didn’t read the reviews properly first- it was one of the first websites to come up on google and I could see it had about 4* review on there so I just assumed it was legit...silly me. So, the watch arrived quite quickly (within a week I think) so no complaints here for delivery except for the fact I had to pay an extra £10 to insure it. Luckily, I decided to give the present to my boyfriend early as we wouldn’t be seeing each other again until after Christmas. When he opened the packet the product box clearly stated that it was the ‘Asia Version’ of the watch. I wasn’t aware that this would be the case but it didn’t particularly bother me and didn’t seem to bother him so he carried on to try on the watch. He put it on, turned it on and went to connect it to his phone. Within ten minutes of turning the watch on it turned itself off despite having 80% battery. We tried resetting it, plugged it into charge for half a day, followed the manual and tips on how to overcome problems, but the watch never turned back on. Contacting Toby Deals for a return is just painful and draining. The product doesn’t come with any returns form etc so you have to contact customer services directly and get a ticket and wait for a response. I informed them of the problem but they wouldn’t provide me with a returns information until I uploaded pictures and videos (into Google Drive because their website doesn’t even allow you to upload the videos that they request) to prove that the item is faulty. So obviously I just had to take a video of the watch plugged in/charging yet not turning on. I uploaded this and was eventually given the details for the return. THIS IS WHAT YOU NEED TO BE AWARE OF: (to be fair I think it does actually state this on their website, but as you don’t expect to encounter problems, you don’t always think to look). If you return a product which isn’t faulty, just unwanted, they will deduct a £20 admin fee from your return as the product has to be sent back to ASIA where their company is obviously based. If you return a faulty item, you won’t have to pay a fee but you do have to cover your own return costs- so obviously if you’re sending back something large or expensive and need guarantee delivery then you’re looking at spending around £10 just to send the item back, and I doubt they’ll reimburse you for this. If you return a faulty item they obviously check the product to ensure it is faulty. If they decide that it isn’t faulty they will charge you a pick up fee of £50 and return fee of £30. So you could lose out on £80 by returning the item. I returned mine last week and still haven’t even heard back yet to say they received it, despite the fact I can see it was delivered and signed for the next day. I’ve contacted them and just been told to wait. Obviously I know that the product is faulty, but it is still nerve wrecking sitting around waiting to see if they somehow managed to turn the watch on and are going to charge me £80 to return the thing!! So yeah, I ordered this 3 weeks ago. It took 1-2 weeks for them to give me return details, and now I’m still waiting on the return and refund details. Obviously I won’t be receiving the refund in time to order another watch before Christmas, so I’m just £200 down right now. I’ve seen some good reviews, and obviously not every product that they sell is going to be faulty, but I really wouldn’t take the risk if I were you because if you need to return your product for whatever reason you will definitely regret buying from here just to save a couple of quid.
