After buying from Saffron Alley, my search for quality Halal beef has finally ended. I've been searching for quality halal beef for ages and I've purchased from many different butchers online only to be left disappointed with the beef they are offering, both the quality of the beef and the unconventional style in which they sell the traditional cuts. My local halal butcher do not offer beef in the traditional cuts, they just sell beef mince, cubes and rump cuts of an average quality. From Saffron Alley, I purchased: -Beef Fillet 8oz -Halal Angus Sirloin Steak Premium Grain Fed 450g+ -Halal Smoked Turkey Rashers I was trying not to get my expectations up due my past experiences but upon opening the box, I immediately knew that this is it, I've finally found the place. Everything was pre cut to perfection, I didn't need to clean up the meat at all, it's completely ready for cooking. Both the sirloin (450g+) and fillet (8oz) steaks were of a perfect thickness, which is very important when cooking beef. The fillet steak also had an exceptional red colour to it. There was more turkey rashers than I was expecting which is always nice, they had a good thickness to them. In terms of taste, it mainly depends on what you season them with of course. With the seasoning I used, I can confirm that they taste very nice and at medium rare, they are quite tender too. The turkey rashers had a wonderful smokey flavour and depending on how you cook them, they have a range of textures too. The rashers are phenomenal in a sandwich. I will definitely be buying from this place again, I usually have a steak dinner once every few months and I'm really looking forwards to the next one now. Well done Saffron Alley!
