A terrible company to deal with if you have any problems in arriving at hotel.
We arrived at hotel and the room was disgusting leftover food on floors random black stains and bleach stained carpet, rusty bath and I mean thick rust list goes on it’s was filthy!
It was a Friday and 5pm in US so rung the emergency out of hours number and spoke to a woman with very broken English who told us there was nothing she could do we had to stay in the room or sleep in reception, I asked to speak to a supervisor or manager but was informed ‘There are no managers here at all” she promised a manager would call us back at 9am I asked her if she meant 9am U.K. USA or India to which she refused to give a reply.
As you can guess nobody called us back we had to ring them 4 times to be told we will ring you back so in the end we checked out (on there advice) sat 4 hours waiting for a call .... nobody called so called again and advised them we wanted moving to another hotel and gave the name of a hotel (same 4*) they promised to contact the hotel in advance etc. Of course the other hotel wasn’t contacted and we had to pay another £1500 for accommodation. We called again to be fobbed off with the usual story.
They actually call us on the Thursday (that’s 6 days) later to offer us a full refund, I am currently going through complaints process with them as my husbands mobile bill has arrived with £195 of charges for calling Travel Republic plus we had to spend £400 on taxis as the other hotel didn’t offer transfers
So don’t book with Travel Republic unless you have deep pockets!
