I am writing to you to raise an issue about: Travel Republic
The issue that I have experienced was: Booked Cerro Mar Garden hotel x 3 rooms in Portugal Algarve on 8th June 2020 through Travel Republic for 4th - 11th July 2020. I paid £2568.95 on the 20th June (whole balance) however I could cancel up to the 26th June free of charge. On the 26th June I e mailed the hotel directly to enquire about any Covid-19 restrictions in the hotel and they told me my travel provider (Travel Republic) had cancelled the accomodation that day - the last day they could cancel and get their money back. I was not told by Travel Republic that my accomodation was cancelled either by e mail or text so I could have gone on holiday arrived at hotel to find hotel had been cancelled as I had already printed my accomodation voucher when I paid. I have tried to contact them through their customer support messaging but they have still not replied and they are not answering their phone. I had to rebook another hotel as we were taking our family on holiday at a cost of £3,800 but I want my money refunded so I can pay off my credit card. I have friends in Portugal who know staff at the hotel and they said they had bookings of 30% occupancy and they were all cancelled leaving only 3%. Why did they take my money on 20th June and cancel on 26th? and no information to me. It is terrible

This meant that I feel very frustrated at no communication and need the money back as I had to pay for another hotel.
