We heard about Travel Local when we were researching a trip to Central Asia. We wanted a company who had an established network of local in-country contacts, and who were prepared to work with us to tailor a trip around our specific interests. After extensive exchanges with Huw, we locked in a 2 week trip to Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, and it was brilliant! Our young guide was enthustastic, wise and very knowledgeable, stuff that was genuinely interesting, not hackneyed old sound bytes, and had a fantastic sense of humour. Our driver was a real pro, kind, considerate and completely unflappable. Together we sort of bonded and formed a team, and really extracted the maximum cultural experience from the trip. From our own Nomad horse games (like Buz-Kashi), homestays with delicious food, hiking, ancient World Heritage sites, beautiful scenery, the trip was exciting and impeccably executed. We thought it represented outstanding value for money.
