We did an island hopping tour in Indonesia planned by The7Holiday via Travel Local. Was the first time for us we booked over Travel Local. Contacts with Valerie were lovely, precise, competent and uncomplicated. You simply chat via the portal. The trip proposal was such a surprise to us. We have never seen such an offering in Germany. Hence, we felt in love with their proposal and booked a private trip including Borneo, Flores & Komodo NP, Bali and Gili Trawangan. The boat trips with a Klotok boat in Kalimantan and a seagoing boat in Komodo NP were an absolutely good nature experiences. Very simple, without comfort, but traveling in the national parks like the locals with local food, sunrise & sunset and sleeping under stars. We enjoyed it very much. Very different, Bali and Gili Trawangan brought back the comfort. Beautiful hotel choice. Also very kind and competent guides at our side. But for us, we were overwhelmed by the crowds. It was a culture shock - perhaps exactly as we had been on the small boats before. We realized that this is more of a typical Indonesian travel experience. As it was our first time in Indonesia, it was maybe good to see the full range of things. Next time we would go to Lombok and Flores, enjoy nature and hike off the beaten tracks.
