Avoid Booking Through Travel Trolley,
I booked a return flight To Hong Kong in November 2019 leaving on February 21st and returning on February 28th 2020 with Travel Trolley flying with Cathay Pacific. I turn 65 years old next month March and due to the Coronavirus do not wish to place myself at risk by travelling to Hong Kong or indeed Asia. I have had three telephone conversations with different members of staff at Travel Trolley who gave me different answers to my request to change my flight to another destination. I was informed by Kamal at Travel Trolley that if I wanted to cancel my flight to Hong Kong the cancellation charge would be £400 and that I would receive a refund of £69.22p.
The cost of the return ticket was £469.22 . The cancellation charge seems to me to be outrageous and I can only assume that the person who gains financially is Travel Trolley. Three days ago I emailed Kamal to ask him what options are available to me if I wish to change the flight to an alternative destination and how long is the option to change destination valid for?. I have not received a response from Kamal . I telephoned Travel Trolley earlier this afternoon and asked to speak to Kamal . I was told by a female member of staff that she would put me through and then was told that Kamal was not in the office but would telephone me this afternoon - I'm still waiting to hear from Kamal. For the record it may interest readers to know that the hotel I booked independently in Hong Kong gave me a full refund with no quibble.
I would never use this company again and strongly advise anyone thinking of booking a holiday through them to choose an alternative travel agent .
