I am very happy with the Tropical Fruit Box company. I used to be a loyal Miami Fruit customer but I recently tried Tropical Fruit Box and like them better. First off, here I'm actually able to build my own box and customize what I want in an order vs with Miami Fruit do a variety box with no absolute guarantee I'll get what I want. Also, love the customer service here more too. The workers are available to chat whenever and were able to answer all my questions in a timely fashion. I made an order for the Build Your Own Exotic Fruit Box that had mangosteens, soursop, mamey sapote, and apple bananas. I was able to customize my order in the notes, specifying I wanted a higher ratio of certain fruits over others in the box and they were able to accommodate my requests 🙂. I also got the $10 add-on PINKGLOWⓇ pineapple. However I did not realize the pink pineapple was GMO until after I already bought it so buyers beware! I ended up giving it away to someone as I don't eat GMOs. I looked after and it did say on the product page that it was GMO but I didn't notice when buying it. One of the main reasons I wanted to try out Tropical Fruit Box is they had a 100% customer guarantee to make it right if something was wrong. I've been really keen to try mangosteen again as the first time I ordered some from a different website the whole lot was rotten upon arrival. I was hesitant to try buying mangosteens again online but Tropical Fruit Box's customer satisfaction guarantee made me feel safe ordering it here with them. The mangosteens I got in the box were overall great—white, juicy, & delicous! The flavor is similar to a mix between a mango and a clementine. It's mildly sweet and mildly sour. It has the sour punch of an under ripe ataulfo mango but milder. They have brown crunchy seeds inside which you can either eat or spit out. The seeds I had weren't bitter to me so most of them I ate. I did have 6 out of 24 that were rotten or too rock hard to open but the company compensated me for those 6 which I was happy about. ☺️ I got 2 soursops in this box but unfortunately 1 of my soursops got damaged in shipping and the juice damaged/soaked into some of my other fruits. I showed pictures to Tropical Fruit Box and they offered to either send out replacements or to give me a store credit. I chose store credit and I was very happy with the credit they gave me and felt like it was fair 😊. They gave me credits for all the fruit that was damaged and spoiled. A+ for customer service. The other soursop that wasn't damaged was SOOO delicious. I had it the same day it was delivered and it was very soft & ripe and was creamy & custardy. It tastes sweet with a hint of sour. Reminds me of a Trident layers gum flavor I had a decade ago. Very creamy. It has black seeds in it which you can separate in your mouth and spit out. The soursop was probably my favorite thing in the whole box. I also got a mamey sapote in this box as well but it had been soaked by some of the juice from the smashed soursop causing it to spoil faster. I tried to leave it out ripening with my banana stash for a few days but it was wrinkled in some spots but hard in others and looked like it was rotting and fermenting due to the juice from before. When it was cut open and I tried to eat it I could tell it wasn't ripe enough. Only the very inside closest to the peel was ripe and soft, the rest was like hard raw sweet potato. Some of the parts were turning brown. The parts that were soft enough to eat I did like. It reminded me of ice cream birthday cake. A bit starchy due to being under ripe but also very very sweet, dense, & custardy. I bet it would have been even better if it had been fully ripe. This was one of the fruits I was compensated for. The Marzano apple bananas were very good too! They taste similar to an apple flavored jelly belly jelly bean. Like a hint of apple flavored banana. They are more solid too than Cavendish bananas with slightly bigger seeds. I enjoy the snack size of these as well! Overall I am very happy and pleased with Tropical Fruit Box and I will definitely be ordering from them again! The customization options of boxes + excellent 100% customer satisfaction is amazing and exactly what I need as an avid tropical fruit lover.
