I’d nominate True North Granola for a “Best Granola in the Known World” award if such an award existed—and it would win, hands down. The wonderful couple who make this wonderful array of granolas—the best granola I’ve ever eaten!—built their little company in Brattleboro, Vermont (one of the best small towns anwhere, BTW!) from scratch after retiring in their sixties from other long, successful, and public-spirited careers. In true Vermont fashion, they build granola from great ingredients, some locally sourced and all meticulously vetted. So far, every flavor or mix I’ve tried has been, truly, awesome. If you’re buying long distance, I’d recommend buying directly from True North, where the service is personal, and discounts and/or free shipping are often available. There’s always someone available to answer questions or guide you to what may well become your own favorite granola ever. (Just make sure it’s hidden out of sight when delivered, because if people see True North on your doorstep, temptation may overcome their better angels!)
