Both in reviews and on their website, they indicated that I could use Verizon as a carrier if Sprint doesn't work in my area.
But Sprint doesn't work in my area, and I only found this out by purchasing a phone and a plan and trying it out. Their staff admitted that they couldn't switch me to Verizon and would not give me a refund on the service unless I returned the phone too.
I'd already purchased accessories for the phone, and hate returning things anyway, and so lost out on the refund.
