I was thrilled to receive my gift of a drive in an original Mini Cooper S as it is something I have always wanted to do. The facilities at the venue were good as in toilets and food available. The driver pre-briefing was clear and made me feel comfortable about getting behind the wheel. Just be warned the track is not a dedicated driving track, it is an old, all be it an interesting aerodrome and so the surface is rather rough and the track is marked out with cones. Downside was that my instructor got into the car yawning and apologising that he had a late night, this would have been fine, but he didn't interact with me very much with our drive round and gave me very little feed back. I appreciate that I wasn't driving in a high powered Supercar and so high levels of attention wasn't needed quite so much, but i may have got more out of the drive had he engaged a little more. One other thing that was a little disappointing was I only drove 5 laps in the mini and then my 6th lap was being driven around the track in a Mitsubishi. My gift card definitely states 6 laps driving in the mini and nothing about a fast lap in another car.
