This was a birthday present for me, to drive 2 classic cars ( I chose the Healey and E type Jaguar ). The journey to Heyford was only marred by a road 'no entry' a mile or so before the park ( a new housing estate in progress) and no diversion signs, so thanks to local builders for getting my wife and I there on time ! We were courteously met and speedily 'sorted' at reception. A very good talk on what we would expect on the track and then a useful coach ride on the actual track which helped a little later. My experiences with both cars was brilliant and certainly exciting and took me back to my youth. The Healey was not running at it's best I thought, and brought this to my instructors attention, seemed to be idling slow ( the car, that is, not the instructor !). However, the Healey performed well, but I enjoyed the E type more, more power, better handling and braking power. Could have done with a few more laps ! My wife then joined me for a blast at speed round the track, wow, something else and very well driven by a very nice young man, sorry, didn't get his name. We then bought the 'whole package' of in-car film, CD, and photo; a very nice momento of a great day out. The weather was perfect, which added to the day, and good to have basic but good facilities on site for a drink and burger etc. Thank you everyone and well organised. Ivor Simmonds.
