I was made redundant shortly after being diagnosed with cancer.
Unite informed me the treatment I received was illegal and would represent me but despite arranging 3 hearings, they told me my Union rep was on holiday at the last moment and told me to reschedule.
Due to the stress of constant cancelled representation and my chemotherapy, I was forced to give up my case.
I got far more help from free services like UCAS and Citizens advice and the £15 a month that I paid Unite for many years was a complete waste.
