I can't say enough about the tech support that I received. Nick was amazingly brilliant troubleshooting my mistake over the phone! As for the winch, I mounted it to my (heavy) 14' duck boat to pull it up over some steep dikes. It works like a champ. I got the remote control as well and am happy with that. Using it on an open boat instead of an UTV, I used a lot of liquid tape on the contactor just to make sure I don't have shorting problems with all the water. The handheld switch needed some water-proofing as well, but I realize that most are using these winches for SXS's and not duck boats. The alternative to buying this winch was a chainsaw winch, which most duck hunters in my area use. I had a bunch of chainsaw users come ask me about my winch on opening day! They were all intrigued! My only wish was that this winch had a longer rope. I have to attach a tow rope to the winch's hook and then detach when the rope gets spooled. At that point I have to unspool and then winch the rest of the way. A longer rope would shorten that endeavor. I'd buy this winch again in a heartbeat - especially knowing that the company stands behind it with excellent help if you should need it!
