This review is based on four previous holidays with Viking. Overall we were very happy with this holiday. Most outstanding was the happy, excellent service provided by the staff, they were really excellent. Just a couple of points very good but not of the best (especially lunch time as I found not eating meat became rather boring, perhaps cheese could have been provided). Why or why do waiters bring the main lunch time course (sometimes hot) before one has finished the previous course? The chef regularly mingled with the travellers which was unique and appreciated. It would have been more enjoyable if there was increased free time during visits to relax or shop. On many previous river cruises the daily new sheet included quizzes. These we found enjoyable as it quite often brought about conversation with other travellers trying to solve the problems. One of the highlights of the cruise was the talk on Life in France Today, the woman presenting it was outstanding and very funny.
