A few years ago when I was over in the UK for a school reunion I made an appointment to visit Vollers in Portsmouth to look at and try on corsets with a view to having one made to measure. I turned up a little before my appointment and was introduced to Corina and we started looking at the different corsets that I had asked to try on, I cannot remember which model number I tried first but it didn't matter because it had to be adapted for my figure anyway. It was an overbust model in black material and if it fitted well I had plans on ordering the same again in leather. I also tried on a 1918 that is an underbust model in leather and this fitted well right off the peg, I also purchased a corset dress and a corset blouse which were all in black. Corina asked if I would like to see a corset that was a version of one of the corsets that Vollers were thinking of using at London fashion week that year, I asked if they could make one for me and was offered that very corset because she said that they were not planning on making any more like it. They had to alter or adapt certain aspects like bust and hip measurements and they promised to have this corset and the other made to measure corset ready and in my hands before my return to Norway. I had 6 days from when I was in Portsmouth until my return home and Vollers managed in this very limited time frame to have one corset made from scratch and alter the "one off" from London fashion week. The total price was very reasonable considering they must have realy worked hard to get things ready in time for me. I can furnish a photograph of the finished corset(s) but no longer have the paperwork from this transaction. My very first corset from Vollers was the result of me taking my own measurements 25 years ago and ordering the corset by post, the result was not as expected due to my ineptness at measuring myself. I can thoroughly recomend anyone wishing a perfect fitting corset to take the time to visit Vollers in Portsmouth and have them take the measurements. Best wishes Tony
