Manipulative and Deceptive Practices with No Value
Westgate Resorts is a prime example of predatory and manipulative practices. My family and I were lured into a sales presentation with promises of a free lunch, week-long hotel stays, discounts, and compensation. None of these promises were fulfilled. Instead, we endured over 7 hours of high-pressure tactics where the representatives misrepresented their timeshare product as a lifetime discount and investment opportunity.
Despite repeatedly saying no, we were coerced into signing a contract under duress without being allowed to review it properly. My wife, who doesn’t speak English, couldn’t even understand what was happening, and our three young children (aged 5, 5, and 7) were left hungry, tired, and distressed during the ordeal.
The supposed benefits—70% discounts on hotels, lifetime perks, and investment potential—turned out to be completely false. After paying $3,000 upfront, I later discovered that the actual costs over 10 years would exceed $30,000, with no meaningful benefits in return. The prices they offer are the same as standard market rates, and none of the promised perks exist.
This company exploits families, inflicts unnecessary emotional distress, and uses unethical sales tactics that violate consumer rights and Florida laws, including the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act and the Florida Vacation Plan and Timesharing Act.
If you value your time, money, and peace of mind, avoid Westgate Resorts at all costs. Their practices are deceitful, and the financial and emotional burden they impose is unforgivable.
