Ultimately, the service was fine and if you buy more/ pay more you can get books delivered more quickly. If they really want to take on Amazon the service has to match and/ or be clearly different and better - or significantly cheaper - which it currently isn't. it is amazing how quickly they can get books into despatch but the standard delivery from then on in my experience was slow - five days. The autoresponders and person responders regarding cancellation trot out platitudes about not being able to cancel soon after an order is placed. The only way would be to refuse delivery but given standard delivery is with Royal Mail this is difficult to do and therefore you can't really send books back economically which seems to be central to their business model in making people keep their order. I am sure they are all over the Distance Selling Regulations, however. Tried it, know how it works, might come back.
