A good course the "Asbestos Awareness" but it is of course just that 'Awareness'. Great introduction to the types of asbestos and the general products they are found in, which is more that I knew before hand. If in addition to the raw form and scientific name more specific examples and photos of those products were given, (trade marks be damned than peoples well being) It would be much more effective in teaching people to identify asbestos. Unless we are required to pay for another course called "Asbestos identification" i don't believe it'd be unreasonable to ask that they be together in the same course. Un-answered question however, if a owner/employer who knows or aught to know ACM (asbestos containing material) has been or may have been used in their building, is to then test samples of drywall, ceiling tile, vent works ect. What oversight from Workplace Health and Safety is in place to then see that those samples are in fact from the building that the owner or employer says they are and that they are delivered untampered with. Other than a simple "honor system" in which many would be willing to dishonor themselves for the sake of their greed and at the detriment of those working under them. Seems like a no brainer to have that kind of regulation in place, since asbestos exposure seems to be a death sentence in summary. My employer wasn't able to answer this question as he too would like to know the answer. Perhaps I was not properly informed. Thank you reading this far I hope it doesn't fall upon deaf ears. Have a great day whom ever you are where ever you are.
