I returned from my trip to New Zealand just a week ago. I found it to be all that I had hoped and, as a solo traveller, was delighted to be part of a small group that was friendly and sociable. The itinerary covered all the places I wanted to see on both the islands plus extras. I agree with other comments that I've read about Ken Miller, our driver and tour manager. His knowledge and informative narration brought aspects of New Zealand to us that would have been missed on a self-drive tour. He deserves a special thanks for making our visit so memorable! The accommodation was varied and of a good standard, although the Ashburton hotel was not a favourite. I would so loved to have by-passed this and to have spent 2 nights in Christchurch instead. I'd like to give particular thanks to Laura for helping to arrange all of this last year and for answering my questions and persevering with my LOTR enquiries! I would be very happy to recommend Silver Fern to anyone thinking of travel to New Zealand. Lastly, as I type this in the current difficult national circumstances, I feel that my most abiding memory is of the welcoming, hospitable and kindly nature of the Kiwis. A memory to be treasured as much as the scenery!
