Ordered two Barrington settees that according to the salesperson and the website dismantled for delivery..delivery day dawned and the delivery people who according to Sofology are trained, said the settees do not dismantle. While I was in a web chat with customer services they unwrapped the settee in the street turned it over and cut the fabric away underneath. In the end the settees were returned to the depot. I then had an email saying they had been broken down at the depot. I asked how that had been done but had no reply. To cut a very long story short the latest is that they want to re deliver the settees including the now damaged one. I sent a short term right to refuse letter and have been told that the contract says I cannot end the contract under any circumstances. So Sofology even believe they are above the law. They don’t seem to understand that they broke their contract when the trained delivery person said it couldn’t be broken down and damaged it. I think a call to trading standards and watchdog is next. How do they get away with it? If it wasn’t so bad it would be a joke.
