Well, the chooks drank last week's dose without any problems, and the next dose is on Tuesday. It's hard to review at such an early stage - I'm not sure whether the hens said it tasted nice, but they were clucking a bit more when they were let out in the morning and reached the mixture in the bowl (my wife was the witness, I was still in the shower). The number of eggs is the same so far, and the chook who often lays fragile shelled eggs stopped laying just before we started the supplement, so it's impossible to gauge the effect on her - maybe she'll start laying again soon. Kayak (named by the grandchildren for the sound she makes - she is some sort of Chilean chook who arrived here one day last year) has decided to stay out of the pen entirely and nest beneath a geranium thicket beside the wood shed. She is, naturally, not taking part in the experiment - I think she is drinking from the swimming pool, and with a volume of 60 000L, I am NOT dosing that with vitamin supplement (unless you are willing to sponsor it, and provided it will not turn the pool water green.) I will keep you appraised of the future performance of the Dine a Chook. Cheers, Alan
