This is the 4th pair of Veitsch slippers for me. The ones I just received have a very thick wool topped rubber insole. I remove the insole to insert orthotics. With the new thickness of the insole removed and orthotic in place the slippers are too big in the same size I've always purchased. I had saved the insoles from the previous slippers and put them in the new slippers with the orthotic on top. This makes the heel cup very shallow which isn't ideal. Knowing about the new insole would have made me consider getting a smaller size. The new upgraded insoles are very cushy and nice, however, unfortunately not a replacement for my orthotic. It took 2 weeks for these to arrive so I'll work with them instead of sending them back. Maybe a thicker orthotic will work better. I wear these as house shoes year round.
