First and foremost, I thought the instructor seemed like a great person and was kind enough to answer everyone's questions thoroughly. He also clearly knew what he was talking about and was knowledgeable about all Adobe programs as a whole. However, I felt that there was one student in particular who was monopolizing the class and asking questions that either did not pertain to the class as a whole or asking questions about concepts that the instructor had already gone over. I appreciate that the instructor wanted to get everyone's questions answered, but I did not feel that the class moved as efficiently/effectively as it should have because he was constantly having to repeat himself. One important concept for students to understand is that a big part of using a program like this is knowing that there will be trial and error involved, as well as personal troubleshooting before bringing up an issue to the entire class. "If you did everything exactly how I did, and you aren't getting the same result, either backtrack or control Z and Undo it and try again." Personally, I did not feel that we got much done on Day 1 of the class- just inserting a text box with a picture behind it. I have already been using the program daily for about a month for work and have much I wanted to learn. I felt we may have spent a bit too much time on Day 1 on abstract concepts versus actually going into the program. For example- we spent a significant amount of time on CMYK vs. RGB. While this is an important concept, this is likely something that will also be discussed at people's specific workplaces, and that time could've been spent going into InDesign and discussing what a workspace is, what all the tools do, what pages are and how to add pages, etc. (basics). Again, there are 1000000000 things to learn in the program and we could take classes for years and still not learn everything, so it is more a matter of prioritizing what is most universally important within the program itself.
