Appallingly vague customer service and unreliable information given to the point of misinformation. Mountfield, or Stiga Ltd as they are registered, failed to inform me of changes they made to my delivery and when I enquired as to the whereabouts of my order, I was lied to and misdirected to the wrong courier to follow up myself. Now I like Mountfield garden machinery, which I why I ordered more. Usually I go through a Mountfield dealer, so I get better customer support and a reliable service. Unfortunately, my usual dealer was out of stock on this item and I had to go through Mountfield direct. I knew this was a risk based on past experience. Alas, I needed the machinery and sooner than my dealer could supply, so I gambled on dealing with Mountfield directly. Boy am I ever sorry now? I knew they would fail me, and they did. They destroyed that very last glimmer of hope I had for them as a credible supplier or even a professional company. It is such a pity that their machinery is so good. It is their only saving grace, because as a company, as a customer support service, Mountfield (Stiga Ltd) occupy the very bottom of the barrel which contains all that is wrong with customer service in the UK today. And through all my dealing with Mountfield, they have never once apologised for any of their mistakes or for the inconvenience they have caused me. They made a sale and that is all they care about.
