Was really bummed out at first - was certain my BCM was laying a light brown egg. Ends up she was a poser and was just sitting in the nest for a few days without actually laying. The culprit of the unexpected light egg was my OE pullet, Karen. Pippa is now laying beautiful dark, speckled eggs. She’s a beautiful bird herself and very sweet.
So glad I was wrong! I should have known it was Karen ;)
