First of all, RCZ has sometimes great prices, very well packed shipping and most of the time quite okay delivery times.
BUT! they absolutely don't care about the online trading rules in the EU and they don't know how PayPal is working. They are living in their own bubble, where only their T&C, FAQ and (the biggest problem) habit/idea/interpretation of rules exists. Many things they are refering is not written down anywhere on their website or not as it should be. Many of their "interpretation" is against the EU trading rules and PayPal as well.
In my last few orders I had serious problems with them. I had an order on 30th December 2020, where I had some product which was not on stock (available in 20 working days). After the deadline (which is 20 working days on the product page, 25 working days on the Private sale FAQ) I started to ping them what is happening. They said, some of the things are not yet arrived and will be available in a month! (yes, another month). I said, I don't want to wait for them, just ship without it. It was not possible, because: the orders are encrypted, they can not change them (whatever this means..). OK then, ship what you have and ship later what you don't. That was not possible either, because they ship it out, when everything arrived. After 2 days RCZ sent the package, it arrived, but HALF! of the goods were missing from the box and an invoice was included with some handwrited notes:
- with pink color they marked what they don't have and will be refunded (the shipping was ~20 days, and I got no refund)
- with yellow color they marked some, which will be delivered in another shipment (no tracking number, anything)
Basically they gave me ANY notification, that they are unable to send me the things I payed for (~2 month ago, because with shipping it was actually more than 2 month). For example I ordered brake levers (hydraulic Shimano RS505 with PM calipers) left (170 EUR) and right (80 EUR), and they sent only the left one. And they were not sure when I will get the rest of the things.
I offered them many resolutions and in the end, I offered them, I send back what I don't need (because of the missing things) on my cost, just refund the MISSING things and what I will send back in advance. They said no, so I went to PayPal and ask for resolution from them.
They were not communicating on PayPal at all. I sent every emailing, invoice, order info to/through PayPal, because PayPal needs all the available information to make a decision. Ofc. RCZ was lieing (or just don't know anything about how PayPal works), because they tried to ask me to close the dispute, so they can refund. FYI: if you close the dispute, you wont be able to open one again for the same transaction, so you loose all of your Buyer Protection and RCZ can do whatever they want. RCZ never answered all of the questions, always forgot something out from their emails, tried to avoid to give me a good (and acceptable resolution) so I made a claim from my dispute, so PayPal took over the communication and made a decision: I should send back everything and I will get a refund.
But in the mean time, RCZ was unable to send another item I ordered (which I also had in this prev big one), so I wanted to keep it (I made an agreement with them, that the refund will be less - they deduct the wheelset). I notified PayPal and sent back the rest of the things.
PayPal made a decision, based on EVERYTHING I had (imaged about the invoice, list of the missing things, history of our communication - including the missinformation ... closing the dispute, I should accept that they are basically don't care any written EU online trading rules, they can change the contract unilateral, without notifing you (the customer), etc): I got back everything (including what I haven't sent back). I still lost 60-70 EUR on the transaction (because of the currency change rates, I know, that noone cares about this, but still ...).
After some days, RCZ wrote me an email to ask for the price of the wheelset. I told them, I wont send the money, because:
- I lost a lot on the transaction fees, and basically I don't want to "buy" EUR again for higher price
- PayPal made a decision based on the information they had, which is final and if they are not happy about it (which I can understand), they should contact PayPal and we should try to solve it somehow else.
I also offered the half of the wheelset, which I could send them, so I am on nearly ... zero, but they simply banned me from their webshop. They solved that I will never buy on their website again. I left in their webshop at least 7-8000 EUR in the past 2 years, so I am writing this as a banned frequent buyer.
All in all: if you want a central european standard, reasonable customer care, and you can not do "mind reading" and want to deal with a shop, where they respects their customers ... you should not buy from them. Anything. If you want to take the risk ... you can, because most of the time, they are okay. But be prepared for a fight, know your rights, know how PayPal and its Buyer Protection works. I never wanted more than I payed for. I just wantet to get a central european service. The good prices never compensates for such things! Always pay with PayPal, because PayPal will defend you no matter what!
