SETyres Lancing Business Park Took my car for MOT and was given an advisory that my front brake pads were worn and that the brake discs probably would need replacing too, although they would have to take the wheels off to look. I had a major service elsewhere only 4 months and 1,624 miles ago and at that point it was noted that the front pads had 10mm remaining (legal limit 3mm) and the discs were at 24.5mm (50%). I am a light-footed, smooth driver so there's no way either the pads or the discs are even close to needing to be changed. In fact, these are the factory fitted pads and discs and have so far done 38.5k miles for context. So this advisory appears to be an outright lie, presumably to create some work. In addition, customer service when I went to collect the car was surly. Not good and I won't return.
