I purchased an IX-8 D4 for use in my senior project. I have been more than pleased with the speaker. It has far exceeded my expectations with the output it gives. Its recommendation was a box tuned to 40hz. I built two different boxes, one tuned to 34hz and one at 40 hz for testing purposes. Both were slot ported. I must say, I was truly impressed with the 40hz design but it performed very well in the 34hz box. I may be buying a second one in the future.
