Specialised movers were asked to provide removal, storage and re-installation services on behalf of Harron Homes for the ground floor contents of our house whilst remedial works were carried out by the builders. Our main contact at Specialised Movers is Rob Townroe, General Manager. Rob visited our house 3 months ago at our request as my wife have physical and mental issues and we wanted assurances on the quality of the service as we have had back experiences in the past. Rob presented information on Specialised Movers and the organisations that they are accredited to including yours. Everything went well until yesterday which was the day for our furniture to be returned. The removal team arrived and laid protective coverings throughout the house and then Rob Townroe call a member of his removal team who then passed the phone to me. Rob informed me that they would not return our furniture until Harron Homes had paid outstanding invoices from 2019 and he asked his team to return to depot with our furniture. Had my wife not blocked road access then we would still be without furniture today! I am disgusted that Specialised Movers used us as a Ransom to attempt to leverage payments from Harron Homes with us stuck in the middle! This was a cynical attempt made even worse by the fact that Rob new of my wife’s Health challenges and the stress that their actions was taking. Two and a half very stressful hours later and numerous calls between parties and the police and solicitors and our furniture started being put back into our house. By allowing Specialised Movers to promote the fact that they are a member of your scheme you are associating yourself with a less than reputable organisation. I would be interested in any feedback from you and if you endorse these actions by Specialised movers to hold a third party to Ransom?
