Most effective hemp oil I know of--and certainly the most cost effective!!! The "working person's hemp oil." :D Firstly, can we stick to calling it hemp oil since it's a WHOLE PLANT medicine and that's what you want when getting "CBD oil"? Unless you're specifically being treated with some experimental extract of very specific derived/isolated/laboratory cannabinoids....trust me, you want the magic of the whole plant. But back to Sunsoil: I think Sunsoil works the best bc they're the only affordable company I know of personally who keeps things simple and isn't afraid to put the real rich "funky" stuff in their damn bottles for us consumers. Yes, unlike a TON of other "CBD" products on the market that have zero smell or some weird faint "golden" (?) color, or have gone through weird "high tech sounding" extractions....with this product you get a VIBRANT (!) very alive green liquid (mostly MCT oil!) that actually smells like plants in the genus cannabis, and is clearly a beautiful potent old-fashioned extract of those plants. You can actually SMELL and TASTE those special musky flavors (esp in the unflavored!). As an herbalist this is a key thing to me; if I can't verify the plant/medicine by its smell and/or taste...how do I know what I'm buying? (Would you be happy with an orange or a bell pepper or a cantaloupe or a bottle of oregano or mint at the grocery store if the plant material had absolutely no smell or taste?) NOnetheless, there's SO much chronic pain in my life and household I was DESPERATE to find the most effective one(s), so I tried a BUNCH of brands, almost none of which had this special funk! :) IDK if it's that special Vermont something-something (quite possible with that cold crisp climate up there), or the strains of cannabis/"hemp" plant they grow themselves... or the fact that their processing is obviously less adulterated and just straight hemp plant, extracted in some relatively old-fashioned straightforward manner.... but this stuff is head and shoulders above the (more expensive) competition if you ask me. This smell/taste will be a turnoff to some people but to them I ask "what is more important to you: that it taste "good"/sweet?? or that it actually IS the plant medicine you think you're paying for? and that it WORKS?" I would also ask/tell: "WHy don't you try their softgels or their flavored oils? The chocolate mint is YUMMY and the cinnamon is SPICY!" Seriously that warmth and kick of cinnamon is a WELCOME bonus for those of us with chronic inflammatory/"cold" conditions and stomachs that so appreciate the "pep!" It seems like a legit cinnamon essential oil in there (no funky weird flavor) which also impressed me. I started using SUNSoil--the drops particularly--shortly after they'd changed their name. I'd only tried the paste before that, which seemed delicious/funky but overpriced at that time ($30 for a TEENY jar?) and so small I had no idea how helpful it was. So my hopes weren't super high. This was close to when I was beginning to experiment with hemp oil not just for myself but for my elderly Phat Cat who had just been diagnosed with severe arthritis + spondylosis (a painfully degenerating spine essentially) after seizing up one day completely unable to walk, with her pupils all dilated in pain. But wow I'm so glad I underestimated this company and its...reinvention. LOL I think this stuff (mostly the cinnamon but various flavors, almost entirely just the drops, together later with THC products having nothing to do with SunSoil) and helped my (Lyme) migraine condition drastically by cutting the frequency of migraines way down! I was at roughly 18-24 migraine days per month before I started using these products--but this combined w the many other treatments i was doing for Lyme seemed to reduce it down to 2-10 days per month. When I take SunSoil as acute migraine treatment--or as a way of nipping one in the bud--it often seems to reeeally help at least decrease the intensity if already started; OR lessen the likelihood of a "rebound" migraine after eating; OR blunt/abort the onset of one if I take it as SOON as I can after noticing the first signs (which for me aren't a stereotypical/obvious prodrome; maybe some usually subtle sharp pains in my head or the painful/disorienting eyeball/surface of my skull stuff or a feeling of shiftingness and the pain "rising" UGH into my skill). It's def not foolproof or 100% (and I obviously have plenty of migraines to test this on LOL) but it is nevertheless a substantial help and there are some doozies I was able to kick with its help which I'm so grateful for. As a Lyme/fibro/migraine patient I think it is really a staple/no-brainer thing to keep in my regimen although it competes with literally hundreds of other prime possibilities--and honestly while I take it quite frequently and am confident it's played a role in some aspects of my (still discouragingly slow) recovery--I haven't even been super consistent about it! Nor have I dosed it aggressively enough. And yet I really think of it as one of the prime factors that helps me long term and acutely with migraine AND Lyme/immunologic arthritis. So I can only imagine how much more it might help me at more consistent and higher doses. Probably what's most remarkable about the SunSoil drops is that they seem to help all 4 of my CATS with very different health challenges!!! I might really like the Green Vermont company that's cheaper than the others and has a pretty bottle... but last I checked, felines have very little placebo effect! LOL They could give two shits about what's going in their bowls except whether they whether it seems TaSTY! They all get the unflavored hemp oil drops bc the citrus and chocolate and cinnamon would be bad for them, and bc drops are easiest to mix in the food (even my fussiest two eat it, at worst they need some extra treats on top, when starting therapy or getting an extra high dose). All 4 of my cats will routinely gobble this down with food no problem. But I still can't help but suggest that you all start making some drops that are fish or meat flavored specifically for cats OMG I will be their biggest freaking fan!! Also perhaps putting this medicine into more feline- or dog-friendly treats, if possible?? It's helped my young wily girl kitty with cerebellar hypoplasia (congenital lifelong stable/"untreatable"/"unchangeable" neurologic damage to the cerebellum/bottom of the brain from in utero) to walk more steadily and confidently and be her fabulous self--an effect that soon fades when she goes off of it bc we forgot to refill or whatever. It's happened like 2-3 times now and I SWEAR her wobbliness (as adorable as it is) gets worse EVERY time to the point where I can't wait to get her back on it. It seems to have helped my middle aged girl with some stiff joints and definitely helped her come out of a bad case of FLUTD (feline lower urinary tract disease) that was obviously very painful and left her withdrawn, sluggish, and not eating a year or so ago; I've kept her on Sunsoil ever since at lower doses and knock on some solid birch it has not returned (and I still cheat and feed her dry treats too much LOL)!! She deosn't balk about it in her food at ALL now aand I think has come to appreciate its medicine in the way kitties do. :) It's also possibly helped our youngest kitty with some anxiety and a pretty gnarly GI issue; he gets SSUPER chill on this stuff, esp if I raise his dose a little for stressful events, and the GI issues don't return. I don't give it to him every day; only if the belly or stress issues flare. Most remarkably it's helped our ancient cat with her degenerating spinal disease to go off of her pain meds altogether for the better part of a year--esp when combined with acupuncture. More recently when her acupuncture was interrupted she had to go back on the gabapentin for a while but has still been doing fabulously--keeping to her routine with no major pain interruptions at age 18!!--and once again has been on only Sunsoil (no other pain med) for the last 3 or so months! This stuff is a LIFELINE for her with that condition!! If she misses it for a day or a week (even while taking gabapentin) she declines. It is obviously way more important and more helpful/essential for her even than her rx pain med!!? While I'm happy for her to avoid rx drugs, I honestly figured she'd need gabapentin (at least) every day for the rest of her life, and was honestly shocked to see that result myself--I thought the effect of the hemp would be a LOT more subtle but no--with SUNSOIL foremost among them, there is a HUGE difference, including a big drop in her comfort and appetite and general perkiness if she goes OFF of the stuff. Honestly I also see a little difference if we interrupt her glucosamine/chondrointin therapy (Dasaquin) but this difference is way more pronounced--the Sunsoil is a necessary lifeline for her and I don't wanna imagine what the last couple of years would've been like without it for her!!! I'm just so freaking grateful it seems to keep her mobile (mostly!) and out of pain--while giving her these amazingly extra blissful naps! :D I always reco this brand to folx FIRST bc after trying SO many brands out there--for pets and humans--they just didn't compare! (Cry emoji!!) There are only a couple of brands that seem at all effective--none better IMO based on the ones I've tried--and many of them cost many times what Sunsoil does! (Cry emoji again!) if Sunsoil can keep the price down and efficacy up and just stick with what they're doing, i want stock!! lol I am not paid LOL (though I welcome some SunSoil stock... tehehehe); the stuff is simply awesome and will remain a staple in my household for humans and animals as long as they continue with their superb quality and trustworthiness and cost efficacy.
