It protects the sheet and the mattress, but it does not absorb the urine and leave your little one sleeping soundly throughout the night if they’ve wet the bed. Even if they wet the bed once, it needs to be changed and washed. So not really worth the big price tag in my eyes. You have to buy at least 2 to not be constantly washing these, which works out pricey. Might as well just get a waterproof materess cover for a fraction of the price
