Had an absolutely fantastic time on the Trail by Rail trip in April '24 with our sons aged 19 and 17. Absolutely brilliant. There's a really good combination of organised events (which gave some great insights into the Japanese way of life) and trips, balanced with enough free time to do your own thing. Hotels and meals were all excellent. Our guide Shiomi was a star - trip went like clockwork and she went the extra mile, helping organise random events, assisting with bookings etc, providing great info on things to do, and she sings a mean karaoke!! I would recommend a trip like this, as it takes the stress out of travelling, planning etc, allowing you to focus on enjoying yourself. I'd definitely use Oomi next time I visit.
