I am really upset with the way I have been treated as a business. I have had to close my business down and have even sent proof of this. Despite this, the gentleman on the phone accepted this and said that the paperwork has been received. Suddenly I'm receiving a threatening bill from a bailiff despite the fact that I have a baby. Yell promised us that someone would come and see us after a month of the original contract to discuss ensuring that we are trading successfully which by the way we were not. Nobody came to see us and we then found out that the original person who was supposed to come and see us was simply just a salesman and was not held accountable for any reason. What is so terrible is that despite Yell being in breach of contract I've just been sent a massive debt letter £300+ which does not even make sense. When I search my former company's name, Yell.com is underneath the original website. Why is this the case? Why are they using my former company name to advertise themselves when we have closed the company? And when I click on the actual website of yell.com it then says that this company is apparently closed, when I have sent proof from Companies House to explain that the company is closed down. If you are not able to keep to your side of the bargain by promising us the Earth and telling us we will get this many queries and this many phone calls and we basically got nothing and we were told someone will come and look after us and make sure that things are going well etc etc How can you justify charging us a bill of £300? Firstly, you need to delete our details from the Internet. We contacted you so many times, explaining the mistakes on our website. I hate to tell you this but your customer service was non existent and if you really insist on taking me to small claims court, I will happily contact my solicitor and she will fight this the whole way through. I have even received calls from Yell and those numbers cannot even be contacted back. When they want money...they will call. When they do not provide a service, they don't want to accept it. Yell.com did not provide the services that were promised. We did not even receive a copy of the contract. Stay very clear of this company. I am awaiting a response which I'm sure will take ages. So a dodgy company called UKDJ - DFB Sound & Light Warehouse based in Nottingham is yet another company who has paid Yell to have my negative feedback removed 2 years after I posted it. I bought something off those deadbeats on Ebay who never delivered It, and instead of just issuing the refund, I had to open a case on Ebay to get my refund, I even left my review on there facebook page and the more trustworthy Google review site. Now and I quote yell are saying: The review in question was removed because it breached Yell’s guidelines. It did not contain any information on the experience of the services/products the business offers. Now if what you have paid for they don't even deliver and then don't even give you your hard earned money back, then I don't know what counts as any information or my experience of this dodgy business. We were on the phone for 1 hour and 15 mins. He answered all of my queries and followed up with an email. He pointed out some improvements that could be made and listened to what I had to say. I asked him for his direct number so I could contact him personally in the future. I would thoroughly recommend him. I have been a Yell advertiser for some years now and am a real Yell fan. From the start we realised there system ' Reputation Manager'was terrible and not what we were sold at all. Totally un-flexible. We thought the whole system would stream line a lot of work for us, but what a joke. If your a small business keep well clear. Just over a month of using, we wanted to leave but we were stuck into a 12 month contract. We honoured the contract but then after 12 months we were asked for another 3 months payment. Wasted so much time on the phone with them- avoid!! Darren Mackay 6 reviews 1 star: Bad 3 days ago Stay away from yell Yell will only try and sort out 3 months of problems once you have posted bad reports about them on social media.. my advice to anyone reading this stay away from yell , this company are terrible, I wish I never had any dealings with them Reply from Yell 3 days ago Hello Darren, we can see that you spoke to our team yesterday who are keen to help resolve the concerns raised, but they are waiting for some more information from you, so they can action this. My partner also wrote one, that disappeared too. It seems Yell allow their businesses to self regulate their reviews so that only the 4 or 5 star reviews show. The rest are ditched. Yell would no doubt argue that nothing deemed as "damaging the business" can be included, but I guess just the fact that it's a one star review could fall under that. Basically Yell and their businesses are deceiving the public with biased reviews. I wonder if this review will disappear too! Mark Selby 2 reviews 1 star: Bad 3 days ago Reviewer contacted Their Sales People Lie I signed up to their free listing, then was inundated with sales call. The sales person even lied and told our reception they were from a branch of our company, just to get through. Sorry, but there's no way I would work with a company who thinks it's acceptable to lie from the get go. ANDREW KELSEY 6 reviews 1 star: Bad 3 days ago I was promised the world and got the moon! I was promised the world, more customers calling each week, top of google search with an professionally designed website. What I got was a website that was off the shelf that any DIY'er could have made up, pictures that had little to do with my industry and most of the content I had to write myself. As for the increase in calls, I think over the 3 + years I was with yell, I got possibly 10 calls, (which would have cost me over £3600 in Yell fees) As for google, I was not in the top, I was not even in the top of the Yell search. They keep ringing offering more services at an extra cost, promising more customers. Very disappointed. In the end after paying out all the money I did not own the website (not that it was worth owning) I moved to a company who wrote my web page, using specific code that google understands and this is all at the fraction of the cost that Yell charge. Who uses Yell anymore anyway ? Reply from Yell 3 days ago Hello Andrew, We can see that your concerns were fully investigated by our team and a resolution was agreed for you following this. Steve Wyatt 15 reviews London, GB 1 star: Bad Updated 2 days ago Reviewer contacted Poor customer service and poor communication After joining Yell.com 8 months ago, I've had x4 Client Relationship Manager changes, x2 Area Manager changes, several account mistakes, poor communication and an inability to address my client/end-user issues and concerns. Yell.com makes it difficult to reach someone in authority to address problems and the group email addresses they have, often don't provide the solutions, despite being more than reasonable. +1 week ago, I even emailed the CEO, listing all the account and service issues (x7 in total), but not even an acknowledgement. It doesn't show any level of service quality or care to address their service problems, let alone in a timely manner. Some of the issues I've experienced have gone on for several months. Yell.com, like several digital marketing service providers, lack effective communication and service quality skills. I've learnt my lesson, do your own marketing because service providers promise the earth, but as yet, haven't delivered. In my opinion, it's better to invest the time into learning the marketing skills yourself. Besides that, there isn't a quick solution to branding and marketing a business. It's a long-term and ongoing process. Following my review, Yell.com have been in touch, but their Complaints department lack customer service skills, talked over me and aren't willing to address the majority of the concerns and issues. Based on the all and my personal experience to date, it appears that Yell.com do not care about service quality, mistakes or the customer experience. Instead, they would rather try to shout down customers, which made me feel bullied rather than demonstrate a willingness to address the points I raised one-by-one. In addition, when I said I felt like I'd been mis-sold, the Yell.com Complaints Advisor got more aggressive (louder and talked over me constantly). Further, he denied any issues other than to say there is a problem with the Reputation Manager tool providing faulty numbers. This is despite me providing proof that their reputation service has produced errors on some sites. The Advisor was more intent on arguing about the reasons for their CEO change and that they only have complaints amounting to 2%. I don't see what a 2% rating by their calculations has to do with the poor service I received. With the above in mind, I've revised my rating from 2 (poor) to 1 (bad) and considering my options.
