The first dates we asked for were not available as the hotel did not have room free. The second set of dates were available and after some initial delay in getting an answer back from a gentleman at Golf travel the dates were booked. The Melia Benidorm is a very nice Hotel and apart from the weekend when it was packed to bursting, we had a great time and the staff were excellent. The room was clean and had toiletries for our use in the bathroom. A bit noisy at times but that was the other guests acting without consideration to others. Located in a good place to experience Benidorm, both the Old Town (a bit of a walk away) and the New part on the doorstep. Food was pretty good on the whole within the Hotel and many restaurants within a 5 minute walk. As this was our first visit to Benidorm we arrived with an open mind but in hindsight, would not have visited if we had known what it was like. Loud and many drunken Brits about especially at night. Some may like it but not us (65 years old). We went to have a look and play golf. The Levante course was okay and in reasonable condition to say how popular it is. A bit of TLC on the greens would not go amiss. The Poniente course was disappointing and more like a long pitch and put than a proper golf course. It did have some difficult holes but overall was not what was expected of a golf course in this area.
