Simrit is an exceptional coach and mentor. I worked closely with her over a 6-month period in the heat of the post-secondary application season. My applications to McMaster and Queen’s Health Sciences was a new, daunting challenge for me, especially given the competitive nature of these programs. However, Simrit put me at ease through a streamlined process. In the initial stages, she assisted in my research to attain extensive background regarding my programs of choice, in addition to other programs within and outside my area of interest; this helped me gain confidence in the choices I made and reaffirm my belief in Health Science being a good fit for me. We used Youthfully’s Student Blueprint as an outline to highlight my ‘story’ and identify areas of focus that could be highlighted in my essays. In addition, we conducted interview practice for both online and in-person formats, adapting our preparation approach for the brand new Queen’s supplementary application. Simrit's comprehensive, tailored tips and feedback reach far beyond my Queen’s Health Science video interview, such as in my journey through the extensive selection process to become a Loran Award Finalist. Simrit’s unwavering support, optimism, and growth mindset encouraged me to push towards my very best.
