If you want a good, fair insurance company with excellent customer service, then 1st CENTRAL is NOT it. They will find an excuse to add on extra charges and if they ever mention the Validation dept then you know you are going to be subjected to some extortionate charges because they will use the slightest change to the policy to use excessive charges... Cost me nearly £100 more for a few months difference on when passed driving test!!!

10 months in to policy, they suddenly want to review all details. We had to send photos of licences, as well as evidence my partner is eligible to work in this country (he's been here 7 years). Came back with claim that BOTH of our licences were entered by us 1 month wrong! Google shows its a common claim by them! Rip off merchants wanted an extra £106 with the final insurance instalment! Don't be fooled by the cheap quote!

Ok wouldn’t let me select the payment date as the 28th when purchased on line so I’m going to have to ring to get it updated.

I have tried to contact customer service to apply for green card and I can see its very difficult. I have got in contact with someone from customer service, they try to deal with my enquiry but at the end he hung up the line, after I tried again, this time he said to me to do online- I ask to guide me but couldn't help because couldn't find so, he asked me Google online to see how to apply. That's awful. Still haven't resolved my enquiry

We have just taken out a new car insurance policy with them and, have to say, my initial impression is very very good! The agent was very professional and incredibly helpful and I was pleasantly surprised how smoothly the whole process was. Time will tell if this is as good as it seems but it’s all good so far! 😃👍

Bad customer customer service and they like to add on extra charges AFTER you've committed to 12 months by paying in full. Better to go for the more recognised insurance companies with the better reputations..

I have not been with this company long enough to form a genuine review, however I was very pleased with my reasonable insurance quote for the year (especially what it included) and was happy to see that this company had very good reviews on Trust Pilot :) I hope I am not disappointed! :)

Shocking , dig a little deeper and many have been charged extras months after taking out policies . Quality of repairs , asking for extra info ( and charging extra) after initial cost. Personally I was too concerned about the ACTUAL level of cover and potential repairs in event of accident. I subsequently decided to cancel a whole week before policy start and was charged £50 cancellation fee ( carefully disguised as a set up fee) I won't be " chancing it" with these cowboys!!!. Belligerent and obtuse when concerns voiced on phone . Disgusting customer service. AVOID AVOID AVOID.

AVOID! WORST EXPERIENCE - make you complete everything online then chase you straight after to find any fault in dates etc they can. My insurance is £300..they then told me to pay £85 more because my license date was 2 months out (despite it been over 15 years old...). Then they levy a £50 admin fee for everything. If you want to change a date, £50, an initial, £50 - if you try to cancel, £100 penalty. Incredibly unhelpful. WORST INSURER ON THE MARKET

I have been taking insurance from compare the market since three years unfortunately I selected 1st central seeing a low price took the insurance after two weeks they asked said some on my details are missing and demaned 700 pounds to make ammendment spoke to Andrew macdonals team leader promised to investigate and said will offer a compensation and then he disappeared. Had to pay another 106 pounds to take the head out of this fraud company.
