“Maybe I misinterpreted the search criteria, but I was actually looking for a reconditioned part. It seemed pointless to me to replace a starter motor that has just stopped working for a part of the same age, with the possibility that would then soon fail because of its age. One person who 'phoned said the starter motor was off a car that had only done 34,000+ miles. That seemed very odd for a car that is over 12 years old, and so I was very dubious about the authentic nature of the call.”
