“I have RAC break down cover it is useless I broken down on mother way call was anwer after 45 minutes and gave time for 2 to 3 hours don't use RAC it is headac bad customer service”

“RAC please avoid!!! I have had terrible experiences with eta of 5-6 hours all the time!! They have never turned up, within the time they have said. Absolute disgrace of a company! I hope every person who reads this message boycotts this company and never wishes to use their services ever again. They have no service whatsoever and I could go on for hours about how bad the service was but I rather keep it short and sweet and say, please avoid this company at all costs. They are probably the one company that will 100% get you killed. They need to be regulated and questioned.”

“rubbish service waiting for 3rd to as breakdown came to visit family in different city and had breakdown there ringing them cor 2 hours not answer and once answered told me driver will ring in 90 mint after 4 hours and ringing them several time still nothing update from RAC. i think 1 stat is still too much for them as bad service and no response”

“Car wouldn't start called rac and because I was at home they kept me waiting 3hours needed a new battery they got one put it on costing me £193.00 I only have a Toyota rang to complain about the price and was told I didn't have to have it so expensive and will not be renewing”

“I had a a flat Tyre and called RAC breakdown about 12:30 in the afternoon and it is about 16:05 and no one still here, they originally told me it will be about 90 minutes but nothing heard any thing back, despite calling them several times, they do not update you at all if they are not going to make time, but awaiting from 5 hour, and it is nice sunny normal day, no snow or anything at all, so nothing extraordinary happening with weather or anything, very bad service, do not even think about going closer to these guys.”

“RAC are absolutely the worst and it’s beyond a joke, had tyre cover on policy however because tyre was bare despite the fact it had a hole in it they used terms and conditions to get out off supplying a new tyre through a third party , there is absolutely no point in adding these things when you need it and can’t access it because of there ridiculous rules and regulations , more like an excuse they’ll take your money but you won’t get anything back , so had to sort it all out myself with no help from them, cancelling the cover and will be very careful who I go with in the future, anyone thinking of signing up with the RAC I would be very careful as they will use whatever T&C’s they can not to pay and also the wait times are much different from what they say it can be hours your left for, never again”

“Would leave zero stars. Like earlier reviews, when I called for assistance they told me it would be £170 extra as they consider a flat tyre to be an accident and not covered by premier roadside assistance plus towing coverage. Spent 2 hours and 10 minutes in middle of busy roundabout waiting for said expensive tow truck. Plus they sold my phone number on to insurance companies and I’ve been inundated with calls about my accident (5 months now). Wish I’d stayed with AA and will go back to them as soon as I can.”

“RAC used to be trusted, but not anymore. I've been waiting 24 hours for a recovery vehicle to turn up, which was promised yesterday afternoon. It takes an unacceptably long time for your call to be connected for an update, and then your call is mysteriously disconnected. It's a shambles. You are not kept waiting when you sign up for their service. If you do not want to be kept waiting and lied to, do not trust the RAC.”

“Completely incompetent. I would not advise signing up. They do not care or look after their customers at all! I had a policy with them for years, and then they backtracked and wriggled out of helping me the first time I needed help after years of being a loyal customer and made me pay £175 to get help. I wouldn't trust the RAC at all!”

“My car was broken down in a very dangerous position on a dark, double yellow line corner. Had to wait a very long time, maybe an hour for them to answer the phone. All the operators were busy etc. Funny how operators are quickly available when you first join up and pay them money. Rotten service, just awful.”

“Broke down 3pm RAC turned up 3.5 hours later, only to tell me they couldn’t tow, then given ETA of recovery at 4.30 am!! Very poor service. They also didn’t call when they promised, twice, and when I called to find out what was happening I waited 35mins for RAC to even answer the phone! Nightmare service!”

“Terrible- left on motorway in dark and cold with 2 young kids for almost 4 hours before recovery attended. Dangerous, Useless and very distressing. Multiple calls, no callbacks despite promises to and when recovery did come- he had only been informed of job minutes before despite waiting for hours. Truly terrible.”

“Awful company. Fine if they turn up but usually 20 minutes or more on hold and then a wait of hours before they attend. If they attend. The standard procedure is to try to find excuses not to. Don't waste your money here.”

“Terrible service! Total lack of concern towards its customers! I had a 3ltr Jag insured with the RAC, plus breakdown cover. The Jag failed it's MOT so I let it go and replaced it with a 1.8ltr Rover but the RAC Insurance was higher for the Rover than for the 3ltr Jag! Obviously I went elsewhere, but I still took RAC Breakdown Cover with the new company! But the RAC are saying I must pay in full for the cover on the Jag which I was paying monthly! If I do this, it will mean I've paid DOUBLE for one year of Breakdown Cover! How can that be legal? So far I have received no word of compromise from the RAC, even though I've asked for it and offered to pay the rest of their cancellation fees, etc. :/ :p Terrible Customer Service!”

“If could score no stars I would. Price has gone up by £10 in 2 years despite no claims since we took cover over 14 years ago. If you do manage to actually get through to speak someone within an hour the Customer service is shocking unhelpful rude staff who cannot be bothered to speak to you because they have targets to reach and you're holding them up. Appalling company definitely wont be renewing with them”

“RAC PATROL MAN WAS A ABSOLUTE GEM FROM START TO FINISH. HE WALKED ME THROUGH REPAIRS AND POSSIBLE FAULTS ON MY VEHICLE. VERY UNDERSTANDING AND SYMPATHETIC TOWARDS MY CIRCUMSTANCES. 7 ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ALL ROUND. THANK YOU SO MUCH. PATROL MAN: CARLTON. NUMBER: 2136.”
