“For many years I have used bifocals but this month I changed to varifocals from Vision Express, totalling £154. I found viewing a computer screen hurt my neck after a while.
I determined to buy a pair of reading glasses for computer work and SelectSpecs made me a pair for £11! Perfect, full screen is in focus whereever my head is (within reason).
Driving in varifocals is OK, but I had not driven when I ordered my reading glasses. Vision Express advised me to get usd to to varifocals because thay involve moving your head and wing mirrors may not be as easy to see as with bifocals.
I was a bit concerned so investigated how much a pair of bifocals would cost me. £31 was the result bringing my order to £42 plus postage!
I added tints to the bifocals, in high summer I thought they'd be a half-way house towards prescription sunglasses. And the tint would only cost me £10 less the postage I'd save now my order was £49+ at £52.
Was warned Covid could delay delivery for up to 20 days (from the posting date, 21st Dec) but our wonderful post service provided tracking and I received warning, which was honoured , that delivery would be on 23rd..
£52 for two pairs whilst sat in my lounge is very impressive.
If I need new glasses again, I know where I'll be going for them.”
