“I was really pleased to arrive at the airport for 5am and have no issues with parking. Obviously I had paid in advance and had confirmation of my payment in an email. So it was disappointing that when I returned to get my car, and realise I had left my ticket on the plane, I was quizzed for nearly half an hour over whether I had paid or not by the guy at the ticket office. It was late at night, I was shattered and had a long drive ahead and couldnt understand why showing my receipt on my phone for the booking why i could just not be let through - the guy at the desk repeatedly told me he couldnt find me on the system depute seeing my receipt and showing him ID! It was absolutely ridiculous. He let me through eventually once the penny had dropped I had in fact paid. I would have rated very good had this not been the case. U have to accept that sometimes tickets get lost but if there is a back up emailed receipt then this should suffice as proof of purchase.”

“i PRE PAID ON MY WAY INTO THE PARKING ON THURSDAY MORNING RECEIVED MY TICKET ON MY WAY OUT ON SATURDAY NIGHT THE TICKET WAS REFUSED AND I COULD NOT GET OUT. LUCKILY THERE WAS AN OFFICE OPEN SEVERAL HUNDRED YARDS AWAY. THE GENTLEMAN THERE DID SOMETHING WITH MT TICKET AND I THEN GOT THROUGH THE BARRIER. THE MAN IN THE KIOSK LIKE OFFICE DID WHAT WAS EXPECTED BUT CERTAINLY NOT WITH ANY GRACE. I HAVE IN THE PAST BEEN ANOTHER SUCH SITUATION AND COULD ONLY GET OUT BY USING MY CREDIT CARD AND SO FINISHED UP PAYING TWICE. THIS IS UNFORTUNATE THE PARKING IS VERY CONVIENT TO THE TERMINAL. INCIDENTALLY EITHER I AM GOING BLIND OR REALLY STUPID BUT I COULD NOT FIND STAIRS TO THE UPPER LEVEL PARKING.”

Dear Mr McHardy Apologies for any delay you experienced exiting the car park. I have checked your booking details and the registration you have entered has caused problems with the automatic system. You have used the letter O instead of the number 0 and the system has not automatically attached the booking details to the ticket. This means the parking system has treated your ticket as normal and asked for payment. If entering your registration details it is important to enter it exactly including the numbers and letters. The stairs are located at the front of the multi-storey facing the terminal building with two lifts available also. There are also four emergency stairwells located around the multi-storey but probably not suitable for anyone with large luggage. I hope this explains and you continue to use our service in the future.

“All went according to plan. Picked up and taken to and from Car park to Airport by bus. Just a two minutes run. No issues and happy with the overall service.”

“Car parking experience was fine with the one exception that we had 7 cases and required 2 trolleys to transport them. The trolleys were secured and needed pound coins to release them. We did not expect this and had no change with us. Due to disability my wife is not able to pull a case, therefore it took 3 trips for me to get the cases to the check in desk. The situation was worse when we returned to aberdeen from Thailand. After a total of 18 hours travelling we experienced the same thing at the international arrivals. Unfortunately I was not able to make 3 trips as I would not be allowed back into the baggage area, we were then left stranded in the baggage area, there were a number of other foreign visitors in the same boat. This system is unacceptable, tourists do not have in their possession pound coins when they arrive at aberdeen airport. I then had the embarrassment of having to ask the other passengers if they could give me change of £10 to enable me to get out of the airport. Fortunately someone gave me £2 to get two trolleys. Whoever is deciding policy at this airport needs to take a long hard look at this policy, first impressions count and if you want visitors to believe that aberdeen is such an unsafe place to be that we need to chain up trolleys then what impression are we leaving them with. I am sorry that this is so negative as it could have been a really positive experience, but if you were in my situation with 7 cases and no means to transport them then I am sure that you would feel the same.”
